KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team capped off a big week that included two MIAA victories with an individual accolade as Libby Munoz was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week.

The Hornets kicked off the week looking to avenge an early season loss to Calvin as they hosted the Knights at MacKenzie Field. Munoz's goal scoring prowess proved to be the difference in the match as she scored all three of her team's goals, including the game winner in the final 3 minutes of play to propel K to a 3-2 victory.

After a 6-0 setback against nonconference opponent #1 University of Chicago, Munoz helped the Hornets bounce back with a 4-0 win over Saint Mary's in which she contributed a goal and an assist.

With her offensive output this week, Munoz, a sophomore from Leland, leads Kalamazoo in both goals and assists with 12 and three, respectively, for a total of 27 points. Those totals are impressive when compared across the MIAA as well, as she is tied for first place in goals scored and sits in second place for total points.

Munoz has not only been prolific in front of goal this season, but has scored in crucial moments for the Hornets as she scored the game winning goal in both victories this week to bring her total to six game winners on the season.

Coach Bryan Goyings said, "Libby had a tremendous performance against Calvin and wrapped up a strong week against Saint Mary's so it is great to see her resiliency and hard work rewarded. Most importantly, I know that Libby values the success of the team above all else and will continue to do everything in her power to push herself and her teammates to reach their full potential when it matters most now as we approach the conclusion of conference play."

Munoz is being honored as Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in both this season and her career.

Kalamazoo, which currently sits in a tie for second in the MIAA at 7-3, will return to MacKenzie Field on Tuesday to take on Alma at 7 p.m.
