HOLLAND, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team fell to Hope 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In a game that was played in a steady rain, Hope took the lead in the 32nd minute when a cross by Allie Wittenbach deflected off of a Kalamazoo player and into the goal to put Hope ahead 1-0. The Dutch doubled their lead in the 52nd minute when Erin Brophy took a through ball from Megan Bigelow and finished near post.

The Hornets battled throughout the game to find a goal, especially in the second half when they took eight shots. Sarah George led K offensively as she put four of her five shots on goal.

Hannah Wolfe made four saves in goal for the Hornets.

Coach Bryan Goyings said, "I give Hope credit as they are a quality opponent and deserved the victory today. Being down 1-0 at half, I was pleased with how the team responded and felt that we played our best soccer to start the second half. It was disappointing not to find a goal at that time. I thought Madison Vallan and Raechel Schmidt were asked to do a lot today and they battled throughout the game."

Kalamazoo will look to bounce back on Wednesday as they return home to take on Trine at 7 p.m. on Senior Night.
