Hannah Wolfe playing soccer.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team was defeated by #2 Chicago 3-2 on Tuesday evening.

The visiting Maroons struck first with a goal in the 10th minute by Hanna Watkins. Libby Munoz responded for Kalamazoo, with the first of her two goals, eight minutes later to even the match at 1-1. Freshman Kai Ketola assisted Munoz's goal.

The Hornets' momentum carried into the second half when Munoz found the back of the net for the second time in the match just six minutes into the second half. Joy Hunziker set up the goal to give Kalamazoo a 2-1 lead.

Chicago found its groove late and tied the match with a Nicole Willing goal in the 68th minute. Rachel Dias followed that up with a goal of her own which went on to be the match-winning goal.

Coach Bryan Goyings stated, "I thought we put together a strong first half and beginning to the second half. However, the last 20 minutes, Chicago was stronger. Finishing out games strong will be paramount to our team's success this season."

Hannah Wolfe was solid in goal again this evening and tallied 11 saves for Kalamazoo.

The Hornets return to action September 7 at 5:30 p.m. against Aurora. The match will be played in Wheaton, Ill.
