KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team took down Manchester University Wednesday by a score of 9-0.

The Hornets took a 3-0 lead in the first half and never looked back. Josie Sibley, Libby Munoz, and Amiee Hutton each scored in the first half for Kalamazoo. Sarah George, Georgie Andrews and Hutton each collected assists in the half.

In the second half, the Kalamazoo offense took over completely by scoring six more goals. Munoz picked up her second and third goals of the match to complete her hat trick. Catie Stamper, Joy Hunziker, and Kai Ketola also scored in the half for Kalamazoo. Sibley finished the scoring in the 81st minute with her second goal of the match.

Larkin O'Gorman and Grace Karrip collected assists in the half along with Munoz, Hunziker, Sibley, and Hutton.

Hannah Wolfe earned her fourth shut out of the season in goal while making five saves.

Kalamazoo's complete offensive attack was shown tonight as they out-shot Manchester 48 to seven. The Hornets also had 20 of those shots end up on goal.

Coach Bryan Goyings said, "The margin of victory may have been large, but I thought it was a comprehensive team effort from the group this evening. Specifically, six different goal scorers and a team shut out; our fourth in the last five games. It was fantastic to see Aimee (Hutton) get a goal right before halftime and Grace Karrip record an assist in the second half. Now, we must prepare for what I am sure is going to be a very tough and balanced MIAA schedule."

The Hornets return to MacKenzie Field next Wednesday, Sept. 26 as they open up MIAA play against Hope. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
