KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team collected a big conference win Wednesday night by defeating Albion 3-1.

After a scoreless first half of play, Kai Ketola got the Hornets on the board as she took advantage of a defensive mishap by the Brits. Junior Amiee Hutton followed Ketola's goal with one of her own just 20 minutes later to extend the lead.

Albion answered in the 77th minute when Samantha LaRocca connected on a penalty kick.

Libby Munoz put the game away just two minutes later with her ninth goal of the season. Georgie Andrews picked up the assist on the play.

Sophomore goalie Hannah Wolfe made nine more saves this evening to bring her season total up to 75.

"I thought that in the second half we were much better than the first. Amiee (Hutton) really brought a spark to the attack with her goal which turned out to be the game winner," said coach Bryan Goyings. "It was a positive start to the second half of MIAA play. I am hopeful we can use the momentum of tonight's result and continue to improve moving forward."

Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Saint Mary's. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
