GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team lost 4-1 at Calvin College in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.

Kalamazoo took the first six shots of the game, but it was Calvin scoring first in the 19th minute. The Knights added another goal in the 31st minute and took the 2-0 lead into halftime.

Kai Ketola made it a 2-1 game with a Kalamazoo goal in the 70th minute (Sarah George assist).

The Knights followed up with a goal two minutes later. Their fourth goal came in the 84th minute.

Calvin finished with a 24-11 advantage in shots, including 12-7 on goal.

"I was very pleased with our start and it was disappointing not to get a goal early on for our efforts," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings. "Calvin really gained momentum after their first goal and we struggled to recover."

Kalamazoo finishes the season with a 9-7-2 overall record, the third consecutive winning season and the fifth straight .500 or better.

"I am beyond grateful for the contributions of our two seniors, Molly Brueger and Sarah George. Sarah has been a phenomenal leader and Molly's work ethic has been exemplary. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors."
