The 2022 Kalamazoo College women's soccer seniors have selected their Most Valuable Professors to recognize this season. These Most Valuable Professors were recognized before the home soccer game on Oct. 1.

The Hornets selected Dr. Eric Nordmoe, Professor Isabel Martinez-Pena y Valenzuela, and Professor Amy MacMillan.

Selecting Dr. Nordmoe as their Most Valuable Professor was senior Hannah Durant. Dr. Nordmoe teaches classes within the mathematics department, and Durant appreciates how welcoming and open Dr. Nordmoe is while also convincing her to major in the subject. She is grateful for Dr. Nordmoe's guidance as her academic advisor and for her senior individualized project.

Lexi Nesbitt chose Professor Martinez from the biology department as her Most Valuable Professor. Nesbitt is grateful to Professor Martinez for taking her under her wing and teaching her more in-depth about Neuroscience. She also appreciates Professor Martinez's drive and passion for the subject, which pushes Nesbitt to expand her knowledge in the field. This desire excites Nesbitt for her future career path.

The final Most Valuable Professor, Professor MacMillan from the business department, was honored by Alexis Petty. While Professor MacMillan could not attend the ceremony, her spirited attitude, passion for teaching, and ability to connect with students are why Petty chose her. Professor MacMillan's intentionality when it comes to learning and growing is something Petty appreciates. Petty is not the only fan of Professor MacMillan, as 29 other student-athletes have also selected her as a Most Valuable Professor, making Professor MacMillan the most honored professor on campus.
