Rising senior Colleen Orwin was named a preseason All-American in the 400 individual medley by CollegeSwimming.com in a release by the publication on Monday, Sept. 5.

Orwin, the reigning Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association most valuable swimmer, was an individual champion at the MIAA championships last year in the 200 butterfly, 200 IM and 400 IM. She was also a member of the MIAA record-breaking 200 medley relay.

Following the conclusion of the conference championship meet, Orwin competed in three individual events and four relays at the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C. She placed as high as 19th in the 200 IM.

Selections for preseason All-American status are heavily based on times from last season as well as input from coaches and sports information contacts.
