GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team kicked off the first of three days of competition Thursday evening at the Calvin Invitational.
In the night's first event, the women's 'A' 800 freestyle relay recorded a time of 7:58.84 and placed ninth in a field comprised of multiple Division I and Division II programs. The 'B' relay recorded a time of 8:12.26
Three different Hornets competed in the 1650 freestyle, the evening's final women's event. Malak Ghazal led the way with an 11th place finish and a time of 18:39.99. Claire Cebelak and Lesli Washington placed 15th and 17th with times of 19:32.45 and 19:37.05, respectively.
Competition resumes Friday.
