Women's Swimming & Diving Splits with Hope and Olivet

HOLLAND, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's swimming and diving team competed against Hope and Olivet at the Hope Tri-Meet on Friday evening (Jan. 20). The Hornets defeated the comets 161-53 before falling to the Flying Dutch 162-75. Kalamazoo had 16 top-four finishers on the evening.

Sam Vande Pol took second in both the 1-meter (217.7 points) and 3-meter (240.55 points) dive events. Also finishing fourth in the 3-meter was Sofie Santos at 219.8 points. The 200 Free Relay team garnered a fourth-place finish as Mya Richter, Frannie Turner, Ava Williams, and Lizzy Silber finished in 1:45.45.

The Hornets had two individuals win their event as Camille Misra swam a 2:08.54 in the 200 Back and Turner finished the 200 Fly in 2:19.36. Misra had a second-place finish as well in the 50 Free at 24.93. Katie Rock (1650 Free) and Silber (200 Free) also finished second in their events. Rock finished at 19:11.55, while Silber swam a 2:04.27.

Coming in third in their respective events were Hailey Yoder (1650 Free - 21:12.04), Richter (200 Free - 2:05.37), Turner (400 IM - 4:55.6), and Anni Schnell (200 Fly - 2:26.48). The fourth-place finishers were Olivia Bagwell (100 Free - 56.66), Silber (500 Free - 5:37.5), and Mary Muenzenmaier (200 Breast - 2:39.94).

The Hornets will next compete in their final regular season meet in a dual at Alma on Saturday (Jan. 28), Beginning at 1 p.m.
