Women's Tennis falls just short against Carthage

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team lost a close 5-4 match Wednesday evening to Carthage College in the second of three spring break matches in Orlando, Fla.

Maria Franco and Sabrina Dass picked up the lone win in the doubles matches as they took one doubles, 8-5.

It was Franco and Dass, again, who also earned team points in their respective singles matches. Franco took one singles 6-3, 6-0. Dass, who found herself down 1-4 in the first set of her two singles match battled back to take the first set 6-4. The comeback theme repeated itself in Dass's second set as she battled her way back from a 1-5 hole to take the set 7-5 and the match.

Also picking up a singles win for K was Alexandria Oswalt. She won her six singles match 7-5, 6-4.

The Hornets will look to end spring break on a winning note Thursday when they close their trip with a match against Luther.
