Women's Tennis Defeats Calvin in MIAA Semifinal

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team defeated Calvin 5-1 in an MIAA Tournament semifinal match Thursday inside the Markin Center. 

Kalamazoo swept the three doubles matches before wins at one and two singles clinched the match.

Maddie Hurley/Ella Knight won 8-0 at three doubles followed by an 8-2 win at two doubles by Meghan Killmaster and Sophie Zhuang. Caroline Norton and Renee Torres overcame an early deficit to win 8-5 at one doubles.

Norton won 6-1, 6-1 at one singles before Torres won 6-1, 6-1 at two singles to end the match.

Kalamazoo travels to Hope on Saturday for the MIAA Tournament championship match scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
