Volleyball defeated by Augustana, Carthage

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team was defeated by Augustana and Carthage at the University of Chicago Gargoyle Classic on Saturday.

After dropping the first two sets to Augustana, Kalamazoo won the third set, 25-21. Augustana finished the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.

Nya Greenstone and Kelsey Hill each had seven kills to lead Kalamazoo. Paige Johnson and Kaela Van Til each had six kills.

Camille Giacobone had a team-high 13 assists while Alex Gothard finished with 10. Dana Devito led the team with 12 digs while Logan Horejsi had 11.

Kalamazoo fell to nearly-ranked Carthage 25-15, 25-13, 25-16. 

Greenstone again led the Hornets with seven kills. Hill finished with five while Van Til and Noa Yaakoby each had four.

Gothard had 18 assists in the match while Horejsi had 11 digs.

Kalamazoo returns to conference play at home on Tuesday, Sept. 30 when the Hornets host Alma at 7 p.m.
