Volleyball falls in four to Alma

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost in four sets in front of an energetic crowd inside Anderson Athletic Center on Friday.

After 15 ties and six lead changes, Alma finally pulled out a 30-28 win in the first set. Kalamazoo recovered to win the second set (25-20) to even the match. Alma followed with a 25-20 win in the third before clinching the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth.

Kaela Van Til and Shamari Browning each had 11 kills to lead the Hornet offense. Van Til added 10 digs and four aces while Browning had four digs.

Maria Katrantzi added 10 kills with 12 digs and three blocks. Shelby Suseland and Sidney Wall each had seven kills. Suseland recorded four blocks while Wall had three.

Paige Johnson finished with 36 assists, 13 digs and three aces. Dana DeVito led the team with 26 digs while Kennedy Boulton recorded 10.

Kalamazoo closes out the season at home against Hope tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m.
