Volleyball splits pair of Friday matches

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday evening inside Anderson Athletic Center.

Kalamazoo ended the evening with a 3-1 win over Anderson University (25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21). 

Madi Goodman and Rachel Girard led the way with 11 kills each. Maria Katrantzi and Shelby Suseland each finished with eight while Zoey Ammon posted six.

Ammon added 29 assists, 15 digs and three service aces. Girard recorded 17 digs with three aces while Taylor Ferguson led the team with 28 digs. Suseland led the team with five blocks.

Earlier in the evening Kalamazoo fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-14) to Hiram College.

Maria Katrantzi led the Hornets with nine kills while Shelby Suseland had seven. 

Kaiya Herman-Hilker recorded 20 assists while Rachel Girard led the team with 14 digs. Taylor Ferguson finished with 13.

Kalamazoo returns to action at home on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against Beloit College.
