Volleyball takes down Adrian in five sets

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team won its third match in a row Friday night with a dramatic five set victory over Adrian.

The Hornets won the first set decisively, but Adrian came back to capture the next two sets including a tight third set which Adrian pulled out 26-24. Kalamazoo rallied to win the fourth set and force a fifth and final set. In a back and forth fifth set the Hornets maintained their composure and won a dramatic point at 13-13 to propel them to the victory.

K had a well rounded attack with four players recording 10 or more kills. Madi Goodman led the way with 17 kills and a very efficient .455 hitting percentage. Zoey Ammon set up the attack with 48 assists on the night. Taylor Ferguson continued her strong play in the back with 40 digs to lead Kalamazoo defensively.

The Hornets will look to continue their winning ways as they return to action tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Saint Mary's at the Anderson Athletic Center.
