Volleyball Takes Down Illinois Tech

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team defeated Illinois Tech in four sets in front of an energetic crowd inside Anderson Athletic Center Wednesday night.

After winning the first two sets 25-13, 25-19, Kalamazoo dropped the third set 25-13. The Hornets trailed 7-3 early in the fourth set and still trailed 21-20 after tying the score at 18-18. The Hornets scored four straight points before finally putting the match away at 25-23 in the fourth.

Shelby Suseland led the Hornets with 14 kills and a .414 attack percentage.

Madi Goodman had seven kills and three blocks while Vanessa Vigier and Grace Kraft each had six kills.

Kraft also led the team with 14 assists while Zoey Ammon added 12 assists with eight digs.

Maddie Wojcik led the Hornets with 18 digs. Kelly Nickelson finished with 15, Kate Schultz 11 and Vigier 10.

Kalamazoo returns to conference play with a match at Alma on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
