ELMHURST, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team lost its opening match at the Elmhurst Invitational 3-1 Friday to Augustana University.

Kalamazoo won the first set 25-19 before dropping the next three 25-18, 25-18, 25-15.

Ann Lawrence led the Hornets with eight kills and eight digs. Charlotte Ruiter had seven, Rorie Dougherty six, and Mackenzy Maddock five.

Kayla Ridenour recorded 16 assists with nine digs. Lizzy Rachiele also had nine digs. Dougherty also had 10 assist.

Kalamazoo is scheduled to face Coe Saturday morning followed by host Elmhurst.
