Arquette places fourth at MIAA Championships

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team placed seventh overall at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships Saturday afternoon.

Lauren Arquette led the way for the Hornets placing fourth overall with a time of 22:15. Her finish marks the fourth time this year she's finished in the top four of a race.

Arquette was placed on the MIAA First Team for her performance at the meet.

Three other runners placed in the top 50 for the Hornets including Sophie Roberts, Anna Roodbergen and Cheyenne Allyn-White. They placed 40th, 48th and 49th respectively.

Rounding out the top five was Mira Swearer who finished in 52nd overall with a time of 26:09.

The women's cross country team will take a week off from competition before traveling to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Great Lakes Regional. Race time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
