POWELL, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team finished 23rd at the NCAA III Great Lakes Regional on Saturday.

Lauren Arquette finished 43rd overall to lead the Hornets with a time of 23:32.

Hannah Hamilton finished 109th at 24:49 while Rachael Gallap came in 129th at 25:08.

Coach Koster's Meet Notes

Our 23rd-place team finish is the best we've done since 2009. In her first full 6K after almost two years on the DL, Lauren Arquette passed around 40 people from the 2K mark to the finish to come very close to getting back on the All-Region team (she was tenth here as a freshwoman) — she was a mere 9.5sec out of the top 35. Behind her, Hannah Hamilton crossed the line 122 places higher than she did at Regionals in 2016, which is pretty astounding considering there were 247 finishers in total yesterday (and only 232 last year — Hannah was second-to-last that day). The two rookies in our lineup, Rachael Gallap and Kathryn LeVasseur, ran the toughest races of their young college careers to nail down that eight-spot improvement in our team place over last year.
