Kalamazoo College's Rachael Gallap was named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's cross country runner of the week on Monday.
Gallap, a sophomore from Kalamazoo, Mich. (Portage Northern HS), finished in 29th place at the Lansing Community College Invitational on Friday. She completed the 5K course in a personal best time of 19:58.1.
In a field with runners from Alma, Calvin, Hope, and Olivet, Rachael was the top MIAA finisher.
The Hornets finished in 13th place overall in the team standings.
This marks the first time that Gallap has been selected as the Runner of the Week by the conference in her career.
Kalamazoo returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 13 at Pre-Nationals at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis.
