Laura Edwardson Lam '99 joined the Kalamazoo College coaching staff during the summer of 2022.

Coach Edwardson Lam ran for Kalamazoo cross country for four years from 1995-98, becoming the first female Kalamazoo cross country runner to qualify for the NCAA DIII National Championships in 1995. She was an All-MIAA First Team runner in 1995 and made the second team in 1998, as well as being on the all-region teams after sixth (1995) and 25th (1998) place finishes. Coach Edwardson Lam was also on the MIAA Honor Roll all four years.

Before Kalamazoo, she ran track and cross country for Loy Norrix for four years. Being an avid runner for more than 30 years, Coach Edwardson Lam has completed 13 full marathons (including the Boston Marathon twice) and a number of half marathons.

In addition to coaching, Edwardson Lam has been working with the City of Kalamazoo for 13 years and is currently a Deputy City Manager. After graduating from Kalamazoo in 1999 with a degree in human development social relations, she spent time in Chicago, Ill. and San Jose, Calif. before returning home. In San Jose, Coach Edwardson Lam completed her master's degree in public administration in 2011.

Married to another Kalamazoo alum Dan Lam '98 who also ran cross country for four years, Coach Edwardson Lam and her family currently reside in Kalamazoo. They also have two sons, Jackson (14) and Cody (10).
