Several Kalamazoo College golfers and coaches are participating in a golf marathon on Monday, May 3, 2021 to help raise funds for First Tee of West Michigan.
The Hornet golfers and coaches will join others in the communicty attempting to play at least 100 holes of golf in one day at Kalamazoo Country Club. They are collecting pledges per hole or flat donations in support of the effort to raise funds for kids on scholarship at First Tee of West Michigan.
First Tee of West Michigan's mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character and instill life-enhancing values through the game of golf. First Tee of West Michigan offers programs to students age 7-17, many of whom participate for free or at a greatly reduced rate, focusing specifically on underprivileged and at-risk youth who normally wouldn't have the chance to learn through the game of golf.
The K golfers have a goal of raising $3,500 for the First Tee program through their play on May 3rd. A $240 gift covers the cost of a young person on scholarship.
