Baseball Wins Two at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College baseball team won both games of a doubleheader at Olivet on Saturday, 25-8 and 9-1.

Game One

Kalamazoo scored nine runs in the first inning en route to a 25-8 win in the opener. The Hornets added five runs in the second, one in the third, five in the fifth, and five in the seventh. It was a 15-7 game after four innings before Kalamazoo's additional runs provided a significant cushion.

Kalamazoo had 17 hits in the game compared to 12 by Olivet.

Harrison Poeszat was 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored, and five RBIs.

Spencer Baldwin, Ryan Morgan, and Lukas Bolton each had two hits. Ben Chosid had a double and five RBIs. Doug Propson and Chase Coselman each homered and drove in three runs. Morgan also had three RBIs.

Game Two

Kalamazoo won the second game, 9-1. Olivet took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first and held the lead until the fourth when Kalamazoo put eight runs on the board. The Hornets added a run in the fifth while holding Olivet scoreless the final six innings.

Kalamazoo had 13 hits in the game while three Hornet pitchers combined to allow just two by Olivet.

Ben Chosid was 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Harrison Poeszat had two hits and three RBIs. Doug Propson had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Amani Karim also had two hits.
