KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College baseball team had four players named to the All-MIAA First Team on Monday afternoon. Jack Brockhaus, Doug Propson, Blake Bean and Spencer Baldwin all received postseason honors.

Brockhaus, a junior left-handed pitcher from Birmingham, Mich. (Brother Rice HS), was a leading force for the Hornets on the mound this season. Appearing in nine games, he compiled a 6-1 record, throwing 47 innings and striking out 47 opponent batters. He finished second in the MIAA in wins, fourth in strikeouts, and had the second-lowest ERA in the league with 1.91. Brockhaus allowed just 13 runs over those 47 innings pitched and averaged nine strikeouts per game.

Propson is a junior from Rochester, Mich. (Stoney Creek HS) and led the offensive charge for the Hornets this spring. Propson recorded 46 hits in the regular season with ten doubles, five triples and five home runs. He scored 40 runs and batted in 29 runners. Propson smashed all his previous career-highs at the plate and was second in the MIAA in total hits, third in RBIs and tied for the most triples of any player in the league. His speed was also of note as he stole 16 bases for the Hornets.

Bean, a junior outfielder from Farmington Hills, Mich. (Orchard Lake St. Mary's) earns his first First Team All-MIAA honor. Bean had a great season at the plate with 37 hits over 92 appearances for a .402 batting average. He recorded six home runs for the Hornets this season, the second-most in the MIAA

Junior first baseman Baldwin is from Holt, Mich. (Holt HS) and had a strong presence at the plate and in the field for Kalamazoo this season. Baldwin saw action in all 36 games in the regular season for the Hornets, tallying 44 hits and 30 RBI. He crossed home plate 35 times for the Hornets, had three home runs and hit seven doubles. At first base, he recorded 185 putouts with just four errors for a fielding percentage of .981.
