ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost 47-13 at Trine University on Saturday.

The host Thunder led 16-0 after the first quarter before Ian Burr's 34-yard field goal midway through the second quarter made it 16-3. Trine took a 26-3 lead into halftime.

Burr made a 36-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, and Kalamazoo finished the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Josh Nichols to Hunter Kiesling with 4:02 left in the game (Madison Barch extra point).

Blaze Lauer was 9-of-27 passing for 99 yards. Josh Nichols finished 3-for-3 with 54 yards.

Bubba Wilson had three catches for 60 yards. He also had two rushing attempts for 33 yards.

Jon Brunette had 21 yards on 12 carries. Lance Taylor had two catches for 38 yards.

Jamison Brown, Jr. and Micah Groom each had nine tackles to lead the defense. Jake Robertson had eight, while Payton Fleming and Gabe Meyers each finished with seven. Fleming also had a sack.

Kalamazoo is back in action next Saturday, Oct. 30 at Olivet.
