Six Kalamazoo College men's basketball seniors were honored prior to the game against Hope on Saturday, Feb. 27. Following is what was read during the ceremony:

First up, we have senior captain Thomas Cook, who is joined here by his parents Kevin and Angela, his grandmother Martha and his Uncle Larry. A business and media studies major from Grand Blanc, Michigan, Thomas's dream job is to one day work at ESPN. Thomas is also a member of our student-athlete advisory committee. Thomas is currently leading the MIAA in rebounds per game this season, with four double-doubles in six games.

Next up, we have senior Jordan Currie, who is accompanied by his mother Andrea, step-father Stephen, his aunt Susan, and his father Christopher. A psychology major from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Jordan's goal is to become a sports psychologist or a basketball coach. Jordan has been a huge part of the team's success during his career and has achieved career highs in scoring multiple times this season.

Next, we have the newest addition to our senior class, Rei Gundy, who is accompanied by his father Marvin, his sister Asma, his uncle John, and his cousin Johnathon. A biology major from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Rei's dream job is to become an Oncologist. Rei joined our team this past offseason and has done a tremendous job providing energy in practices and games and helping our team prepare for our opponents.

Next up, we have senior captain Merritt Hamann, who is accompanied by his mother LeAnn, his sister Kyra, his girlfriend Claudia and her mother Denise. A biology major from Montague, Michigan, Merritt's goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner. Merritt's leadership has been instrumental to our team's success and he is currently 8th in the MIAA in scoring and 7th in rebounding.

Our next senior is Calder Pellerin, who is accompanied by his parents Carie and Mark, his grandmother Barbara and his girlfriend Josephine. A computer science major from Saline, Michigan, Calder's goal is to become a Head Architect or a Software Developer. Calder is having a terrific senior season after persevering through injuries throughout his first three years as a Hornet. He set career highs in scoring twice this season and has been a major part of our team's success over his career.

Finally, we have senior captain Jack Smith, accompanied by his parents Molly and David, his sister Emily and his girlfriend Rosie. An economics major from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Jack is looking to pursue a career in business upon graduation. Jack is making a major impact for the Hornets this season with his defense and playmaking and is currently 2nd in the MIAA in steals per game.

Aside from their athletic achievements, all six seniors have been role models and leaders at K College and in the Kalamazoo community. They've shown our underclassmen what it means to be a leader and a successful student-athlete here at K. Please join us in congratulating Thomas, Jordan, Rei, Merritt, Calder, and Jack!
