Nicholas Olmeda was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Men's Hornet of the Week on Monday.
Olmeda, a freshman from St. Clair Shores, Mich. (Lakeshore HS), scored a career-high 12 points with four rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes off the bench at Concordia last Wednesday. He shot 4-of-9 from the field, including 1-of-3 from 3-point range, while also making 3-of-4 free throws. Coach Giard commented, "Nicholas kept our team in the game by providing effort and energy when we needed it the most."
On the season, Olmeda is averaging 5.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 48.3 percent from the field.
Kalamazoo returns to action at home on Tuesday, Dec. 14 when the Hornets host the University of Chicago at 7 p.m.
