Chris Cayton was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Men's Hornet of the Week on Monday.
A freshman guard from Bocaue, Philippines (Ann Arbor Skyline HS), Cayton scored nine points in 18 minutes off the bench on Saturday against Adrian. He was 4-of-5 shooting, including 1-1 from 3-point range. Cayton also pulled down two rebounds and was credited with a steal.
Coach Nick Giard credited Chris with "playing good defense and giving 100 percent effort" during his time on the floor.
After scoring a career-high on Saturday, Cayton now averages 2.5 points and 0.8 rebounds per game this season.
The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team returns to action Monday night, Jan. 10, with a rescheduled game at Alma.
