Men's Lacrosse Defeated at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College men's lacrosse team fell 12-10 at Trine on Saturday afternoon.

Trine outscored the Hornets 7-2 in the first quarter to take an early lead. Kalamazoo came up with two more goals in the second quarter while holding the Thunder to one, making it an 8-4 deficit at halftime. Brandon Wright scored twice in the first half, and Jack Loveland and Jake Nugent each had one goal. 

Despite Kalamazoo outscoring the Thunder 3-2 in both the third and fourth quarter, Trine was able to keep its lead for the 12-10 win. It was the third time this season that the Hornets have scored at least ten goals in-game. 

Jake Nugent and Brandon Wright each scored three goals on five shots attempted for the Hornets.

Jack Loveland scored two goals and contributed two assists. He and Nugent also collected four ground balls each. 

Jakob Torzewski and Jack Jesko both scored one goal. 

Goalkeeper Kiah Holdsworth started in the first quarter for the Hornets before Dylan Wickey came in for the last three frames, making a career-high ten saves. 

Kalamazoo is scheduled to host Albion for its next game, on April 15 at 7 p.m.
