The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team will travel to Washington University in St. Louis for the opening rounds of the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships. The Hornets will face Luther College in a second round match on Saturday, May 15 at 10 a.m. CDT (edited from initial announced time).

Kalamazoo (9-0) earned the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's automatic bid to the 37-team national tournament with a 5-0 win over Hope in the MIAA Tournament championship match on Saturday, May 8. The Hornets are currently ranked No. 5 in the Central Region.

Luther (14-4) advanced with a 5-2 win over Coe College in the American Rivers Conference Tournament championship on Saturday. The Norse are ranked No. 10 in the region.

Augustana, Grinnell, and WashU make up the rest of the bracket this weekend. Augustana (12-6), ranked No. 15 in the region, faces Grinnell (9-0) in the first round. The winner of that match faces host and No. 1 WashU (11-1) in the second round.

The winner of the Kalamazoo/Luther match will face the winner of the WashU/TBD match in the third round on Sunday, May 16 at 10 a.m. CDT. The winner of that match advances to the quarterfinals on May 24 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Last year's NCAA III Championships was canceled due to COVID-19. Kalamazoo's last appearance in the tournament was in 2019 when the Hornets also traveled to St. Louis, defeating Wisconsin-Whitewater in the second round before falling to WashU in the third round.
