KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Jackson Kelly of the Kalamazoo College men's cross country team has been honored on Tuesday by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as this week's Hornet of the Week.
Jackson was Kalamazoo's top finisher at the NCAA III Great Lakes Regional hosted by Calvin over the weekend. He crossed in a time of 26:01 to place 103rd overall at the event even after falling in the muddy conditions and gashing both knees.
The recognition wraps up Kelly's cross country career with Kalamazoo. He has been MIAA Runner of the Week three times during his four seasons.
Kelly was also named All-Region during his sophomore campaign after finishing 31st at Regionals hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
