GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost 4-1 and 8-1 at Calvin University on Saturday.
Game One
Calvin won the opener 4-1. The Knights scored one in the first and three in the third while holding Kalamazoo scoreless until the sixth when Nina Szalkiewicz drove home Kelsey Diekman with a single to leftfield.
Calvin had eight hits in the game while five different Hornets had had a hit. Diekman and Lucy Hart each had a double.
Game Two
Calvin won the second game 8-1. The host Knights led 2-0 after two innings and led 4-1 after five after Sammi Luzadre scored Kalamazoo's only run following a single by Nikki Gorder. Calvin added four more runs in the sixth.
Calvin outhit Kalamazoo 9-3. Nina Szalkiewicz, Lucy Hart, and Nikki Gorder each had a single for Kalamazoo.
