LEESBURG, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball team improved to 7-3 with wins over Gustavus Adolphus and Middlebury on Monday.
Kalamazoo vs. Gustavus Adolphus
Kalamazoo scored a run in each of the first two innings to take an early lead, however Gustavus pulled ahead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Kalamazoo tied it with a run in the fifth before scoring a run in the sixth and a run in the seventh to claim the win.
Kalamazoo had 11 hits in the game compared to eight by Gustavus.
Bella Caza was 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Sam Moss, Kelsey Diekman and Nikki Gorder each had two hits. Lucy Hart had a triple.
Jordan Cook earned the win in the circle, striking out four and walking none.
Kalamazoo vs. Middlebury
Kalamazoo scored two runs in the first and led 4-0 after four innings. Middlebury scored one in the fifth and one in the sixth, but the Hornets got out of jams in both innings to hold on for the win.
Middlebury had 10 hits in the game compared to five by Kalamazoo.
Lucy Hart was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Julia Rambo also drove in a run.
Sam Moss had two strikeouts in five innings of work. Lizzy Rottenberk struck out one in the final two innings.
