CLERMONT, Fla. - The softball team won both games in Florida on the final day of its spring trip, defeating SUNY-Cobleskill 5-1 and St. Catherine's 10-9.
Kalamazoo vs. SUNY-Cobleskill
Kalamazoo began Wednesday's play with a 5-1 win over SUNY-Cobleskill. The Hornets scored one in the first, one in the fourth and three in the fifth. SUNY-Cobleskill scored a run in the seventh and had two runners on when the game ended.
Bella Caza, Sam Moss and Kelsey Diekman each had two hits. Diekman drove in two runs.
Jordan Cook earned the win, striking out 10 and walking none while allowing just three hits.
Kalamazoo vs. St. Catherine
Kalamazoo scored four in the fifth and six in the seventh to claim the 10-9 win.
Nikki Gorder led the Hornets with three hits.
Lucy Hart and Mackenzie Moore each had two hits. Amy McNutt had a double.
Kalamazoo (10-4) returns home and is scheduled to host Wheaton on Tuesday, March 29.
