Lizzy Rottenberk was named SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
A sophomore from Waterford, Mich. (Clarkston), Rottenberk threw the softball program's second no-hitter in a 12-0 win at Olivet on Saturday. She faced the minimum 15 batters, striking out three and walking one. She threw seven innings during the week, allowing three hits and one earned run.
At the plate, Rottenberk hit .409 for the week with nine hits, four RBIs and one steal, helping the Hornets go 5-1 with sweeps of Albion and Olivet and a split with Trine.
On the season, Rottenberk is hitting .340 with three doubles, one triple, one home run and 12 RBIs. She's also stolen nine bases in 10 attempts.
The softball team (18-10, 5-5 MIAA) is back in action at home Wednesday, April 27 against Saint Mary's beginning at 3 p.m.
