KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team's Rachel Madar was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Madar, a senior from DeWitt, Mich. (DeWitt HS) had a stellar performance in Kalamazoo's 21-3 victory over Alma on Saturday. Madar led the Hornets with five goals scored on ten shots, eight of which were made on goal. She also won nine draw controls in the contest. With her second goal of the game, she surpassed 200 career goals, a Kalamazoo College record she previously held with 166 goals.
Madar now leads the team through seven games played with 37 goals, 39 points and 77 draw controls won. She sits fourth in the MIAA in goals and fifth in shots attempted with 58.
Kalamazoo returns to action at home next Saturday, April 10 with a 4 p.m. start against Saint Mary's.
