KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Rachel Madar of the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was honored as this week's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's (SAAC) Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday.
Madar, a senior from DeWitt, Mich. (DeWitt HS) scored five goals in Kalamazoo's narrow 18-17 loss to Saint Mary's on April 10. Madar also won an impressive 19 draw controls to set a new single-game Kalamazoo College record. The feat put her at over 400 career draw controls won.
Madar ranks second in all of NCAA Division III in draw controls won on the season with 96. She was also named the MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week for women's lacrosse on Monday. This is the third time this season she has been named SAAC Hornet of the Week.
The Hornets return to action on April 14 at Trine for a 7 p.m. game.
