Women's Lacrosse Wins 19-8 at Cleary

BRIGHTON, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 with a 19-8 win over Cleary University inside the Legacy Center Thursday afternoon.

Kalamazoo scored the first seven goals of the game and led 7-1 after the first quarter. Cleary scored the first two goals in the second before Kalamazoo scored the next six to take a 13-3 lead into halftime.

Kalamazoo led 16-5 after the third quarter. Cleary scored the first three goals in the fourth before Kalamazoo scored three more leading to the 19-8 final.

Kalamazoo held a 30-23 advantage in shots, and 24-14 in ground balls.

Hannah Heeren led the Hornets with seven goals and one assist.

Rose Bogard scored six goals with on assist and five draw controls.

Emma Curcuru led the team with six ground balls. Natalie Maki earned four draw controls.

Jordan Flink made nine saves in goal.

Kalamazoo is back in action next Friday, March 4 at Aquinas.
