ALMA, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team won 3-0 this afternoon against Alma for its second straight win of the season.

Destiny Garcia drew first for the Hornets with a goal in the 22nd minute, her second goal in as many games for Kalamazoo.

Ten minutes later at 32:36, Savera Rajendra-Nicolucci scored her first career goal for the Hornets assisted by Catie Stamper to give the team a 2-0 lead.

Joy Hunziker wrapped up scoring for the Hornets with a successful shot in goal off a pass from Anna Murphy in the 72nd minute.

Kalamazoo outshot the Scots 17-3 with 11 shots on goal. Hannah Wolfe made one save on Alma's single shot on goal to earn the shutout.

"The women put together another strong effort this afternoon," Head Coach Bryan Goyings said. "Throughout the game I felt the diligent work of the midfielders Rajendra-Nicolucci, Murphy and Kai Ketola. Each played a high part in allowing us to control the pace of the game. It was fantastic to see their efforts rewarded. In addition, Hunziker and Stamper both had a major impact on the game as substitutes."

The Hornets are next scheduled to host Olivet on April 6 at 7 p.m.

"Road wins in the MIAA are not easy to come by and to record two in one week is really a superb start to this unique season."
