Ashleigh Carpentier joined the Kalamazoo women's soccer coaching staff in August 2016 as an assistant coach.
Coach Carpentier is also a mental performance coach for Tier Training Performance, where she has been since January 2016. There, she aids clients in understanding and winning the mental game of sports and competition. Carpentier has also had three coaching stops before Kalamazoo. She was a volunteer assistant coach at Western Michigan and a graduate assistant at Georgia Southern while also being an assistant coach at Portage Central High School.
Her playing experience comes from being a defender at Western Michigan from 2005-08. Coach Carpentier appeared in all 72 games as a Bronco with 55 starts in the back line and was named captain her senior year. She also accumulated one goal and three assists in her career for five points. Before attending WMU, Carpentier was a standout at Portage Central that ended with winning the Smith Award for Female Athlete of the Year. In addition, she was a four-time all-conference and two-time all-district, all-region, and all-state honorable mention player.
Coach Carpentier graduated from WMU with a bachelor's degree in graphic and printing science, then received her master's degree in sport & exercise psychology from GSU. She and her husband, Brad Garrod, reside in Parchment, Michigan.
