Camille Misra of the Kalamazoo College women's swimming & diving team was named the SAAC Women's Hornet of the Week on Tuesday (Jan. 24).
The women's swimming & diving team traveled up to Hope to compete in the tri-meet that included Olivet. The Hornets split the duals on the day, defeating Olivet 161-53 and falling to Hope 162-57. The Hornets had 16 top-four finishes in the 13 events.
Misra was the highest point scorer on the women's side for Kalamazoo in the tri-meet, placing in the top two of the two events she swam. She won the 200 Back with a time of 2:08.54, which is less than a second off of her season-best at 2:07.76. Misra also finished second in the 50 Free at 24.93, half of a second off the 24.24 she swam earlier this season.
Misra has been named MIAA Swimmer of the Week twice in her career. In her first season, she was a member of the 400 Free Relay, which finished second, and the 200 Free Relay, which finished third, at the MIAA Championships. The following season, she captured an individual honor by placing second in the 100 Back at the MIAA Championships.
Kalamazoo will next compete in a dual at Alma on Saturday (Jan. 28) to wrap up the regular season.
