KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team won its season opener 9-0 over Alma at Stowe Stadium on Saturday.
The Hornets won all three competitive doubles matches before winning all six singles matches in straight sets.
Sophie Zhuang and Helen Pelak won 8-6 at one doubles. Caroline Norton and Renee Torres won 8-4 at two. Maddie Hurley and Meghan Killmaster won 8-3 at three.
Norton (1), Maddy Winarski (2), Pelak (3), Zhuang (4), Torres (5), and Ella Knight won in singles. Torres lost just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win.
Kalamazoo is scheduled to play next at Saint Mary's on Thursday, March 25 at 4 p.m.
