KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team won its MIAA opener 8-1 over Trine University inside the Markin Center on Sunday.

Kalamazoo swept the three doubles matches before winning five of the six singles matches.

Helen Pelak/Sophie Zhuang, Caroline Norton/Renee Torres, and Maddie Hurley/Meghan Killmaster all won in doubles.

Pelak (2), Zhuang (3), Torres (4), Ella Knight (5), and Hurley (6) all won in straight sets in singles. Torres had the clinching win at four singles, 6-2, 6-0.

Kalamazoo (3-0, 1-0 MIAA) is scheduled to be back in action Tuesday, March 30 at Calvin.
