ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team is competing at the ITA Central Regional Championship hosted by Washington University in St. Louis Sept. 28 - Oct. 2.
Kalamazoo Doubles Results
Renee Torres/Sophie Zhuang won their Round of 64 match 8-4 over Bailey Higgins/Erin Brezovar (Webster). Torres/Zhuang were then defeated 8-4 by (3) Sydeny Cianciola/Sarah Robertson (Denison). Torres/Zhuang defeated Asha Shukla/Pallavi Goculdas (Case Western) 8-6 in the consolation bracket before falling 8-3 to Kensington Payne/Abigail Penados (North Central).
Meghan Killmaster/Ivy Walker lost their Round of 64 match 8-4 to Peyton Oda/Sofia Zafiropulos (Denison). Killmaster/Walker lost their consolation round match 8-4 to Katherine Taylor/Grace Gardner (Transylvania).
Kalamazoo Singles Results
In the main singles draw, Renee Torres won her Round of 64 match 6-1, 6-1 over Mireia Birosta (Greenville). Torres was then defeated 6-1, 1-6, 6-2 by (9) Miranda Yuan (Chicago) in the Round of 32.
Also in the main draw, Sophie Zhuang lost her Round of 64 match 6-1, 6-3 to Teodora Kralijevic (North Park). Zhuang was then defeated 6-1, 7-5 in the consolation bracket by Jenna Bell (Ohio Northern).
In the "Red" singles draw, Meghan Killmaster lost 6-2, 6-0 to Katherine Taylor (Transylvania) in the Round of 16. Killmaster was defeated 8-4 in the consolation bracket by Felicty Kolb (John Carroll).
In the "Green" singles draw, Ivy Walker lost her Round of 16 match 6-2, 6-2 to Kina Ehlers (Franciscan). Walker was defeated in the consolation semifinals 8-5 by Emma Kealy (Saint Mary's).
In the "Blue" singles draw, Rebecca Elias lost her Round of 16 match 6-1, 6-1 to Valerie Doherty (DePauw). Elias was defeated 8-4 by Kathleen McLeod (Saint Mary's) in the consolation round.
