ALMA, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team improved to 2-2 in the MIAA with a five-set win at Alma Monday night.
Kalamazoo led 2-1 after winning set one (25-22) and three (25-17). Alma won the second set, 25-23, before forcing a fifth set with a 25-11 win in set four.
Kalamazoo trailed 13-10 in the fifth set before winning six of the last seven points to win the set and the match.
Hannah VanderLugt led Kalamazoo with nine kills. Charlotte Ruiter and Brittany Miller each had six kills. Ann Lawrence had five, while Toni Koshmider and Halley Johnson each finished with four.
Jana Molby led the Hornets with 16 assists. Sara Reathaford had nine.
Halley Johnson led the team with 18 digs. Morgan Shearer had 12, Lizzy Rachiele 11, Jana Molby 10.
Kalamazoo is back in action at Olivet this Thursday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
