GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College volleyball team won in three sets at Grace Christian University Friday night, 25-20, 25-23, 25-20.
With the score tied 16-16 in the first set, Kalamazoo scored nine of the last 13 points to win the set.
Kalamazoo trailed 21-19 late in the second set before rallying to win six of the last eight points to take the set.
The third set was tied 15-15 before Kalamazoo won 10 of the last 15 points to win the set and the match.
Kalamazoo hit .227 in the match compared to .092 by the host Tigers.
Charlotte Ruiter led the Hornets with 12 kills while hitting .421 for the match. Halley Johnson added 11 kills with a .368 percentage.
Ann Lawrence had eight kills, while Hannah VanderLugt finished with seven.
Jana Molby led the Hornets with 25 assist. Morgan Shearer had a team-high 12 digs.
Kalamazoo returns home to face Great Lakes Christian on Saturday at 2 p.m.
