2017 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

Athletic Hall of Fame wall

Four individuals and two teams will be inducted into the Kalamazoo College Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the Alumni Association Awards ceremony on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.

This year's individual inductees are Elizabeth Garlow '07 (swimming), Kim Hartman '03 (soccer), Judsen Schneider '03 (swimming) and Nick Lachapelle '00 (football). The 1985 men's tennis and 1995 women's volleyball teams are also being inducted.

Individual Inductees

Elizabeth Garlow '07 - Swimming

Competed at NCAA III Championships in 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 individual medley (2004); All-American honors at the NCAA III Championships in the 100 breaststroke (2004); Two-time All-MIAA Team (2004, 2005); MIAA champion in 100 & 200 breaststroke and 200 free relay (2004); MIAA champion in 100 & 200 breaststroke (2005); CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Team (2004); At graduation held the following records - 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay; Team captain (2007).

Kim Hartman '03 - Soccer

Four-year starter and team captain (2002); All-MIAA 2nd Team (1999, 2000); All-MIAA 1st Team (2001, 2002); All-Region 2nd Team (2001, 2002); CoSIDA Academic All-American 2nd Team (2002); NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship (2002-2003) Hornet Records: Career assists: 47 (4th); Season assists: 16, twice (4th); Game assists: 5 (1st); 4 (2nd)

Judsen Schneider '03 - Swimming

Four-year Hornet letter winner; Knochel Family Award and Opie Davis Award (2003); Hornet co-MVP Swimmer/Diver (2003); 14 NCAA individual and team All-American Awards; Four-time All-MIAA Selection (2000-2003); Eight-time MIAA Individual Champion; MIAA League Record in 500 Freestyle (2001); 13 individual and team relay Hornet records (He still holds the 500-meter Freestyle record set in 2000.)

Nick Lachapelle '00 - Football

Four-year letter winner and team captain (1999); All-MIAA First Team (1999); All-MIAA Second Team (1997, 1998); USAfootball.com All-American Honorable Mention (1999); Selection to the USA Football Aztec Bowl All-Star Team (1999); Ninth all-time in sacks for Kalamazoo defense; “…and one pass interception that I take a lot of pride in.”
