Kalamazoo College's Nick Ludka and Sharif Shaker were selected to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District 6 At-Large Team on Thursday. As Academic All-District team selections, Ludka and Shaker advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. Selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), the Google Cloud Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams recognize the top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.

Ludka, a senior golfer from Saginaw, Mich. (Nouvel Catholic HS), holds a 3.98 GPA as a chemistry and pre-med major. He was recognized with numerous honors this season including All-MIAA, All-Region, MIAA Sportsmanship Award, three-time MIAA Golfer of the Week, medalist at the MIAA Fall Tournament and medalist at the MIAA Spring Qualifying Tournament. Ludka's season average of 74.1 tied the school record. His average of 70.8 in league play broke the previous school record by nearly three strokes per round. Nick also holds the school record for career MIAA average (74.4) while ranking third in overall career average (75.4).

Shaker, a senior swimmer from Castro Valley, Calif. (Fame Public Charter), holds a 3.96 GPA as a computer science major. Shaker was an All-MIAA performer again this year as well as MIAA Swimmer of the Week in February. He earned CSCAA Honorable Mention Scholar All American honors following his first season with the Hornets in 2015-16.

Ludka and Shaker are two of ten student-athletes selected from among 12 sports in District 6 which includes NCAA Division III schools in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
