Kalamazoo College's Aaron Schwark was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
A sophomore from Grand Rapids, Mich. (Forest Hills Central HS), Schwark earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week by throwing a five-hit shutout of MIAA champion Adrian, 3-0, on Friday. It was the first time the Bulldogs had been shut out in 136 games dating back to 2012. He struck out four and walked one in the complete-game effort.
Schwark is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season and in his career.
Kalamazoo is currently in second place in the MIAA with a 15-9 league record (20-16 overall). The Hornets travel to Trine on Friday before completing the series at home on Saturday.
